Framing
In the past year I have learned how to frame works (floating/box frames only, without glass). Although I’m new to it, they are good quality! I’d like to offer framing to local artists for a cheaper rate than professionals. This is partly for practice, but mainly to help other artists affordably display their work (I know framing can be expensive!). Have a look at the process video and images for examples.
I have most materials ready to go; v-nails, glue, cutting tools, light, dark and black wood stain, matt and satin varnish, and most mounting materials.
Therefore, the price is as follows: cost of wood (Tasmanian oak, roughy $20 per 2.4 metres, dependant on width; this is used for the sides and the back of the frame) + $30 total for my time (meaning cost will only vary by amount of wood needed). I can also stretch canvas for material cost + $30 time.
As I am a beginner, I may decline requests if I believe they are out of my skill range. Any added materials (eg. You want a different type of wood or stain) will require a separate quote.

Example 1:
‘Sublime’ (below)
(H) 42.5 cm (W) 32.5 cm (D) 3.5 cm
$23.00 (x2) = $46.00 for wood
$30.00 (x1) = $30.00 for time
Total = $76.00
Example 2:
‘Empty’ (below)
(H) 93 cm (W) 62 cm (D) 3.5 cm
$23.00 (x4) = $92.00 for wood
$30.00 (x1) = $30.00 for time
Total = $122.00
